Next State of Play Coming This Thursday
Sony’s State of Play video series is returning this Thursday and it’ll be all about games. The upcoming showcase will feature updates and deep dives for about 10 games that are coming to PS4 and PS5.
Some of these games will be brand new announcements, while others will be third-party and indie titles that we previously saw in last year’s PS5 reveal event. All of them are games that will be releasing in the coming months. There won’t be any business or hardware announcements, so no next-gen PSVR headset reveal or PS Vita 2. Sorry Vita fans. It all starts Thursday at 2:00pm PT/5:00pm ET/10:00pm GMT and will run for about 30 minutes.
This is the first State of Play we will have gotten since August that focuses on multiple games. That event showcased gameplay for Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time, Genshin Impact, Bugsnax, and revealed the VR mode for Hitman 3, amongst other things. Since then, we’ve received State of Plays that were more focused on a single topic such as the PS5 UI, and more recently Destruction AllStars.
Looking back at what was shown during last year’s June event, there are a couple games that could possibly appear. One such game is Kena: Bridge of Spirits. It was supposed to launch last year, but was delayed to 2021. Perhaps this could be the time when the game comes back with some new gameplay and a release date. We could also possibly see some new footage from Goodbye Volcano High or Little Devil Inside. As for first-party games, maybe Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart will appear to show off some more dimension hopping action. Or Aloy will take the stage to give us a new look at Horizon Forbidden West. The State of Play is just days away, so we won’t have to wait long to see what Sony has to show us.
