Your Guide to November’s Major Game Releases

We’re in for some big game releases during the month of November, including one of this year’s (if not this console generation’s) most anticipated games. Here is everything we think you should have on your radar for November 2019.

Red Dead Redemption 2 (PC) – November 5

PC gamers will finally be able to experience the epic, open world of Red Dead Redemption 2. Play as outlaw Arthur Morgan, a member of the infamous Van Linde gang, as he works to stay ahead of the law and build a stable sense of community for his fellow outlaws.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition (PC, PS4, Xbox One) – November 5

Shadow of the Tomb Raider is Lara Croft’s latest adventure, one that is more grueling and dangerous than the previous games in the reboot trilogy. This time, she is deep within the ancient city of Paititi in South America. In addition to the base game, the Definitive Edition will include all seven DLC expansions and a bonus outfit.

Death Stranding (PS4) – November 8

Come November 8th, it seems all eyes will be on Death Stranding. The game was first announced during Sony’s E3 2016 conference, much to the surprise of PlayStation fans. Not only is it the legendary Hideo Kojima’s first game since leaving Konami and the first title to launch from his new studio Kojima Productions, the game features a star-studded cast that’s lead by Norman Reedus (The Walking Dead).

Information surrounding Death Stranding was shrouded in mystery after its reveal trailer in 2016, as everyone tried to piece together what it was we’d just seen. It wasn’t until this year where we really began to see a slew of details come out about the game, including new, lengthy trailers and its fall 2019 release date.

We’ll play as Sam Bridges (Reedus) as he makes his way across a ruined America to save humanity from complete destruction. For more of an in-depth look at the game, you can watch a full gameplay reveal from Tokyo Game Show, which we’ve included below.

Need for Speed Heat (PC, PS4, Xbox One) – November 8

Is it even fall without a new Need for Speed?

EA revealed this 25th installment in the franchise during Gamescom this year and highlighted some of the brand new features the game will be bringing to this long-running series. Day and night cycles will be a major part of the gameplay, with sanctioned and organized events running during the daytime and illegal activities taking place after sunset.

The “Heat” in the title gets its name from the fact that police will have a heavy presence in the game. More specifically, heat is a score multiplier that is tied to a players’ Rep and is only active at night. The higher the heat level, the more players will have to race through the streets to get the cops off their trail.

Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield (Switch) – November 15

Pokemon Sword and Shield is introducing a new era of Pokemon, exclusively for the Nintendo Switch. The new adventures will take place in Galar, a region that Nintendo describes as expansive “with many environments- idyllic countryside, contemporary cities, thick forests, and craggy snow-covered mountains”, where Pokemon and human live side by side and have developed the world together.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order (PC, PS4, Xbox One) – November 15

Star Wars fans won’t have to wait long for Respawn’s take on the games. After EA’s terrible fumble with loot crates, microtransactions, and the pay progression system in Star Wars Battlefront 2, fans are hoping Fallen Order steers clear of the pitfalls that made the Battlefront games so infuriating. Set after the events of Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith, the Fallen Order is a third-person, single player experience. What could be its saving grace is there isn’t a loot box in sight.

Civilization 6 (PS4, Xbox One) – November 22

The immensely popular turn-based strategy game, Civilization 6 is finally making its way to current-gen consoles. For those looking to purchase it on PS4, you will receive the latest game updates and four pieces of content which include four new civilizations, leaders, and scenarios. This includes: Vikings Scenario Pack; Poland Civilization & Scenario Pack; Australia Civilization Pack; and Persia and Macedon Civilization & Scenario Pack.

Google Stadia:

Google’s cloud-based gaming service officially launches on November 19th and is said to be able to stream games up to 4K resolution at 60fps. In addition to playing console-free on your TV, Stadia users will also be able to play on laptops, desktops, and the Pixel 3.
