Three Resident Evil Games are Coming to Switch May 21

In October 2018, Capcom shared the news that three classic Resident Evil games- Resident Evil, Resident Evil 0, and Resident Evil 4- will be making their way to the Nintendo Switch some time in 2019. We didn’t have an official release date then, but now Capcom has finally revealed the games will hit the Switch’s eShop on May 21st.

The company shared the date via Twitter, and also informed fans that pre-orders for the collection will begin on Friday, February 28th.

Between the two of them, Resident Evil and Resident Evil 4 have seen their share of remakes and multiple ports across platforms, since their original releases in 1996 and 2004, respectively. Released in 2002, RE0 is actually a prequel to the first game and was completely remastered in HD in 2016.

This trio of classic horror games is also joining the four-part, episodic Resident Evil Revelations 2 that is already on the Switch. The game has been available in the eShop since late 2017 and features the intertwining narratives of Claire Redfield and Barry Burton. Set on an abandoned island, the game takes place between the fifth and sixth games in the series.
