Star Wars Squadrons Announced By EA
EA has officially announced Star Wars Squadrons. The announcement comes from their Twitter page where they also gave a date and time for the game’s reveal. We’ll be seeing the game on Monday, June 15 at 8AM PT/ 11AM ET.
Based off of the title and image, which showcases Rebel and Imperial ships engaging in combat, it appears as if the game will be a space combat game. This harkens back to the classic X-Wing and Rogue Squadron games that were focused on starfighter combat. All of this lines up with information about the game that has been leaked over the past few months. While the platforms the game will be launching on haven’t been revealed, we can probably expect to find out that information during the full Star Wars Squadrons reveal on Monday.
EA’s most recent Star Wars game, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, came out last year and was a hit amongst critics and fans. It’s now set to be the start of a brand new franchise for the EA and the game’s developer Respawn Entertainment. Prior to that was Star Wars Battlefront II from developer DICE, which released in 2017. The game had a rocky launch due to issues surrounding the game’s implementation of loot boxes, but it’s become a better game in the time since then.
