Life is Strange: Before the Storm Episode 2 Has a Release Date

The first episode of Life is Strange: Before the Storm released back in August to positive reviews, and now we finally have a release date for episode 2, which is titled “Brave New World.” Instead of Dontnod Entertainment, this prequel to Life is Strange was developed by Deck Nine, and the game focuses on the emotional journey of Chloe Price following the death of her father, William. Chloe trying to cope with the loss of her father, however, is only made more complicated by the presence of Rachel Amber. Their relationship will be explored even further in the next episode, along with several new areas.

Life is Strange: Before the Storm

Since Chloe doesn’t have any rewind powers like Max did in Life is Strange, Deck Nine took a full narrative approach to Before the Storm and showed us Arcadia Bay through Chloe’s angsty, and oftentimes dark, perspective. Episode one gave players a good sense of the loss that Chloe is suffering through, while also incorporating the feelings that Chloe is developing for Rachel Amber. We’ll just have to wait and see if those same feelings will be reciprocated as the episodes continue, or if Rachel is simply using Chloe to escape the troubles of her own home life.

While episode one was good despite some cringey dialogue and a confusing new gameplay mechanic called Back Talk, it set a solid foundation for the next two episodes to really shine. In the trailer for “Brave New World”, it looks like we’ll finally get a chance to see Chloe in the dorms of Blackwell. It also looks like her time there won’t be without some drama.

“Brave New World” will be released on October 19th for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. You can watch the trailer for episode 2 below, and you can check out LoadingXP’s review of episode one, “Awake”, here.

Tori is originally from Rapture but now she lives in Chicago. She enjoys open world RPGs, a good narrative-driven game, and is probably the only person still watching The Walking Dead.
