Sony has officially announced the free games that will be available for PlayStation Plus members to download in February, and it’s certainly a big month. PlayStation Plus members will be getting Destruction AllStars, Control: Ultimate Edition, and Concrete Genie, making this quite possibly the biggest month for the service since Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout was free with the service last August.
The headliner for this month is undoubtedly Destruction AllStars. It was one of the first PS5 first-party exclusives announced and was initially supposed to be released at the launch of Sony’s new console. The game was delayed in October when it was announced that it would be released for free through PlayStation Plus. We hadn’t seen much gameplay until a surprise State of Play was released earlier today, giving us a good look at how the game plays. With this long road to launch, all eyes are on Lucid Games to deliver a fun vehicular combat experience.
February’s second big PlayStation Plus game is Control: Ultimate Edition from Remedy Entertainment. Notably, this is both the PS4 and the PS5 version of the game that’s available for subscribers, meaning that players can experience the game on PS5 in either Performance Mode with 60 fps, or Quality Mode at 30 fps with ray-tracing. The PS5 version will support the console’s Game Help and Activities features, as well as take advantage of the features of the DualSense.
Rounding out the month is Concrete Genie from Sony first-party studio Pixelopous. The game came out in 2019 and received largely positive reviews. Making it free with PlayStation Plus is sure to bring the game attention that it may have missed out on when it first released in the crowded Fall season.
Control: Ultimate Edition and Concrete Genie will be free to download until March 1st. Destruction AllStars will be free to download until April 5th. Remember to also download the free games for January if you haven’t yet since the last day they’ll be on the service is February 1st.
