Sony is currently in the process of rolling out a new feature for PlayStation Network users that will allow them to change their user IDs. It’s a change that many PlayStation users have been wanting for a long time, but now that the feature is in beta mode, Sony’s disclaimer has some user raising their eyebrows.

One member in particular, Azdoune, posted additional information they received before moving forward with the System Software Preview Program. In the thread, they post Sony’s disclaimer in full which states:
Important Information Before Changing Your Online ID:
It’s unknown how many users this update will negatively impact (if any), but it’s definitely a word of caution that should give some pause. The Preview Program ends in November, with the complete update available to PlayStation users sometime in 2019. Personally, though, I’d wait until Sony further addresses any complications the update could have on saved data, purchases, and game progress.
