Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice Has a Release Date

FromSoftware’s Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice finally has a release date. Today, publisher Activision, along with the game’s official Twitter account, announced the title will launch in March 2019 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice was first teased during the 2017 game awards. It wasn’t until Microsoft’s E3 2018 conference, though, that the game received a proper trailer and its full title. Despite FromSoftware’s Bloodborne and Dark Souls series, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice doesn’t have the souls-style of gameplay or the traditional RPG elements of character progression.

FromSoftware has us playing as the “one-armed wolf”, a disgraced warrior, who is destined to protect a young lord in an ancient bloodline. According to the game’s official description, “you become the target of many vicious enemies, including the dangerous Ashina clan. When the young lord is captured, nothing will stop you on a perilous quest to regain your honor, not even death itself.”

The game then invites players to make their own path of vengeance. Activision also revealed at Gamescom that a Collector’s Edition of the game will release with the standard copy.

Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice will release on March 22, 2019 and is currently available for pre-order.
