Rockstar Releases a New Story Trailer for Red Dead Redemption 2

You’re a wanted man, Mr. Morgan.

Last week, Rockstar teased some big Red Dead Redemption 2 news would be coming today. Now, we finally have the new trailer, and not only are the environmental shots gorgeous, but the stakes are high. Threats are running wild in the West, with one of the cowboys saying, “Maybe when your mother is finished mourning your father, I’ll keep her in black on your behalf.”

Along with this second official trailer for the game, Rockstar also gave us more insight into the narrative that awaits us in Red Dead Redemption 2, stating it’s “the story of outlaw Arthur Morgan and the Van der Linde gang as they rob, fight and steal their way across the vast and rugged heart of America in order to survive.”

Red Dead Redemption 2

The first trailer for Red Dead 2 was released almost a year ago, and the game was expected to have a fall 2017 release. Earlier this year, it was announced that the game would be delayed, and we haven’t heard anything about it until now. Without having Rockstar’s statement for context, this new trailer would feel like just as much of a teaser as the announcement trailer.  It’s short, coming in at just under a minute and a half, and it still doesn’t showcase anything substantial about gameplay or the story.

The quick shots are enough to get fans excited, but some will be left wanting just a little bit more. This new trailer also doesn’t give us a solid release date for Red Dead Redemption 2 either, just one that is still slated for Spring 2018 and will launch on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One systems. Rockstar has not yet commented on the possibility of a PC version. Let us know what you think of the new trailer below and what you were expecting from the announcement today.
