New Death Stranding Trailer Revealed at Tokyo Game Show

Wrapping up Tokyo Game Show this weekend, Hideo Kojima and Kojima Productions took to the PlayStation stage to bring us some more information regarding the developer’s highly anticipated title, Death Stranding. Making its first appearance at E3 2016, we have slowly been receiving more information on this mysterious title.

The last peek we received of the game occurred during the PlayStation show at this year’s E3. Here, we saw an eight minute cinematic trailer alongside gameplay footage highlighting how players will navigate through the game’s desolate terrain.

Kojima opened the TGS presentation with a Japanese version of the cinematic trailer first revealed during this year’s E3. Alongside this visual recap, Kojima detailed the cast that we can expect in the game. Joining the leading roles voiced by Norman Reedus, Mads Mikkelsen, Lea Seydoux, and Lindsay Wagner are a host other actors. Some of  this cast includes the Oscar-winning Director, Guillermo del Toro, and renowned voice actor, Troy Baker.

Death StrandingThe highlight of the game’s stage show, however, was the new trailer reveal. In this trailer, the game’s protagonist, Sam Porter Bridges, encounters what looks to be one of the game’s leading antagonist, Golden Mask. In this short video, Bridges encounters Golden Mask while carrying another human as his cargo. Golden Mask then manifests a creature from the dark, amorphous figures that haunt the games scenery.

While this trailer only has a 69 second run time, it gives us a better idea of what we can expect from the game. While previous trailers primarily focus on the game’s lore and traversal system, this clip gives us a peak at what we may expect from the game’s boss battles.

Despite providing another glance at the title, the trailer still leaves a lot to question. Like many fans, we are anxiously awaiting the game’s release; However, the TGS presentation did not provide a release date for this intriguing new title.
