New Campaign Details Revealed for Crackdown 3

We are just two weeks away from the release of Crackdown 3 on Xbox One, and Jeff Rubenstein, a contributor for Xbox Wire, revealed new campaign details for the game. Also, in an interview with GamesBeat, Microsoft Studio’s Creative Director and Writer, Joe Staten, stated the single player campaign can take 15 hours or more to complete.

In the Xbox Wire features, Rubenstein takes players through roughly an hour of the game, detailing everything from the playable Agents, to summoning vehicles, to the combat.

There are several Agents to choose from in Crackdown 3, who will progress in stats as you progress in the campaign. Players will be able to swap Agents throughout the game to suit the situation they are in, using a particular Agent’s strengths to their advantage. Agent Chapman, for example, has stats that add an extra 10% to your strength and 5% boost to your firearms damage.

During combat, Agents have the ability to lock onto targets, which Rubenstein notes makes the gameplay “less about how well you can aim, and more about how quickly you can eliminate enemies, swapping weapons for ideal advantage, while keeping on the move and minimizing the damage you take.”

Speaking to the 15-hour+ length of the campaign, Staten explained to GamesBeat:

Crackdown has a decent menu. Bigger than some, not as big as others. If you want to play by yourself or with a close friend, if you just want to have a relaxing story experience, great. We have this really cool 15-hour-plus campaign. If you’re in a mood to bash in people’s teeth, be super competitive, we have that mode for you as well.

Crackdown 3 is currently available for pre-order. The game launches on Xbox One and PC on February 15th, and will also be available for players who are subscribed to Xbox Game Pass.
