Cuphead DLC Delayed Again Due to COVID-19

Studio MDHR, the Canadian studio behind indie darling Cuphead, has announced via Twitter that the game’s The Delicious Last Course DLC has been delayed for a second time.

In the statement, Studio MDHR founders Chad and Jared Moldenhauer say that “we aren’t content for this final chapter to be anything less than our best work,” and that “meeting this standard has been extremely challenging for us amid the global pandemic that has affected so many of our fellow developers.”

The Delicious Last Course was initially unveiled at E3 2018 for a spring 2019 release. The DLC will feature a new playable character, Ms. Chalice, as well as new bosses to challenge. In July 2019, it was delayed to a vague 2020 release.

Cuphead initially launched in September 2017 for Xbox One and PC. It later received a release on Nintendo Switch in April 2019, and finally came to PS4 this past July. The game has sold more than six million copies across all platforms and is getting its own animated series on Netflix.
