The drip feed of PS5 details continues as its Holiday 2020 release window approaches. We got a first look at the console’s hardware and games a month ago, and now we know what the box art for PS5 games will look like.
In a post on the PlayStation Blog on Thursday, SIE Content Communications Senior Director Sid Shuman revealed the box art for Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, which can seen below.
A day later, the official Twitter account for Godfall revealed the upcoming looter-slasher’s box art:
In both cases, we can see that the PS5 boxes will be very similar to what we have right now on PS4. The bar, PlayStation logo, and text across the top of the art have changed colors to better match the PS5 hardware itself, while the plastic game cases will remain the translucent blue color we’ve grown accustomed to with PS4 and PS Vita games. Some gamers on Twitter have commented that black or white cases would have looked better, but seeing as blue has become synonymous with the PlayStation brand, Sony deciding to keep it the same makes sense.
We should be hearing more about the PS5 soon. It is rumored that Sony held back game announcements for a State of Play stream that will supposedly take place in August.
