ICYMI: Playground Games’ Fable Has Finally Been Revealed
For the past three years, the studio behind the Forza Horizon series was rumoured to have been working on a new Fable game. At the Xbox Games Showcase, we finally got confirmation that the game does indeed exist.
Similar to other games in the showcase, not much was shown regarding the game. We know that it will be in some form of a fantasy setting, as previous games were. If the trailer is anything to go by, Playground also kept the classic British humor that Fable games lean heavily into. In previous entries, you play as a hero of Albion. With the use of a sword and pistol, as well as some magical capabilities, you charge through a fantasy open world in search of adventure and monsters to slay.
The last Fable game to release was Fable 3. Previously developed by Lionhead Studios, the games were a compelling reason to own an Xbox. The original Fable introduced a morality system, in which your character could become good or evil. This influenced many games to use the same mechanic, such as Mass Effect orThe Witcher.
Fable currently does not have a confirmed release date, however, will launch on Xbox Series X and PC. You can watch the trailer for Fable below. and be sure to check out the Xbox Summer Games fest where you can play over 70 demos of upcoming games.
