Hitman and Ryse: Son of Rome Headline Xbox Game Pass This August

Today Microsoft announced the games that will headline the Xbox Game Pass for the month of August, and there are some pretty notable titles in the bunch.

For those who need a refresher (or, who are potentially on the fence), Xbox Game Pass is the subscription service that gives players access to nearly 200 titles for a monthly fee of $9.99 (USD). While many games on service are current-gen, there are just as many that have either been remastered from Xbox 360 and Kinect, or were simply made backward compatible.

Xbox’s heavy-hitting exclusives like Halo and Gears of War can be found on the service, as well as great cross-platformers like the Bioshock series and Fallout, and memorable indies like Limbo and Abzu. It’s definitely a subscription to consider. On other side, Sony’s similar version of Game Pass, PlayStation Now, is $10 more. Though there are plenty of excellent last-gen titles available, PS Now still lacks a number of games that launched on the PS4.

This month on Xbox Game Pass, subscribers can expect the full season one of Hitman, which will be a great opportunity for any newcomers of the series to finally play as Agent 47. The good, yet slightly empty Ryse: Son of Rome will also be available, as well as the classic zombie game, Dead Rising 2 from Capcom. Keeping on trend with the zombies, The Escapists: The Walking Dead is also part of the August lineup.

Indies included in the mix are Dandara, Ruiner, and the remastered Xbox 360 Kinect game, Rush: A Disney Pixar Adventure. The Escapists: The Walking Dead.

Tori is originally from Rapture but now she lives in Chicago. She enjoys open world RPGs, a good narrative-driven game, and is probably the only person still watching The Walking Dead.
