LoadingXP’s Top 3 Picks:

If these lowered prices sound too good to be true and you’re unsure what to purchase, we’ve listed three games we think should be in your collection.

  • Days Gone
Days Gone

In a market where Naughty Dog has left its indelible stamp on the post-apocalyptic zombie genre with The Last of Us, it seemed impossible for Bend Studio’s title Days Gone to escape the obvious comparisons; and though the comparisons do run deep (at some points, protagonist Deacon St. John even says, “that’s the last of ’em”, similar to Joel in TLoU), Days Gone found a way to carve its own path in the form of complex skill and crafting trees, and a dynamic open world that can turn unexpectedly hostile. Days Gone’s hours of cutscenes aren’t overwhelming, either, so players will have a satisfying balance between that and survival gameplay.

  • Horizon Zero Dawn: Complete Edition
Horizon Zero Dawn

It’s hard to believe it’s been over two years since the release of Guerilla Games’ Horizon Zero Dawn. The game was a huge departure from the developer’s Killzone series, yet it quickly made a name for itself in the genre of open world RPGs. While jammed-packed with quests, side missions that branch the story in a myriad of directions, and in-depth skill trees, Horizon Zero Dawn still manages to keep players grounded in its core narrative and offers enough diversity in its combat mechanics to keep players contemplating strategy. The Complete Edition includes:

  • Full Game
  • The Frozen Wilds Expansion
  • Digital art book
  • PS4 Dynamic Theme
  • Bonus Weapons, Outfits, and Resources
  • Kingdom Hearts III
Kingdom Hearts III

While the long-awaited release of Kingdom Hearts III didn’t quite live up to our expectations, it’s still a game worth playing, especially for those who’ve followed Sora’s journey from the first Kingdom Hearts. To see how Square Enix ties (or in some cases doesn’t tie) loose ends together is something that every fan of the series should experience first hand. Some notable features include the completely new Gummi Ship system and the new, explorable worlds like San Fransokyo from Big Hero 6. Check out our review for a full breakdown of Kingdom Heart III.

If you’re a PlayStation 4 owner, you won’t want to miss out on these deals. The Days of Play sale ends on June 17th.
