Everything Announced During Today’s State of Play

We got a brand new State of Play today and it was a pretty good one. It brought a few new game announcements, and a lot of in depth updates on games that we’ve previously seen. Let’s run through everything that was shown.

Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time PS5 features

Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time started things off with a look at the features for the PS5 version of the game. They include native 4K visuals at 60 fps, DualSense adaptive trigger support, support for PS5’s Activity Cards, and more. It releases soon on March 12th.

Returnal received a gameplay overview

The State of Play gave us a nice look at gameplay and a tease of the creepy story for Housemarque’s upcoming rogue-like Returnal. The game launches April 30th.

Knockout City showed off some fun dodgeball gameplay

Velan Studio put the spotlight on gameplay for their upcoming dodgeball game Knockout City. We first saw this game during last week’s Nintendo Direct, but this gameplay showcase made the game look more fun than it did before. We’ll see if it’s as fun as it looks when it comes out May 21st.

Martial arts title Sifu makes its debut

The first new game announcement of the State of Play was Sifu, a third-person martial arts title. After your family is killed by assassins, you seek revenge against the killers. You only have one day though and every time you die, you rapidly age. With its intriguing premise and cool looking combat, Sifu is one to watch until it releases at some point this year.

Solar Ash revealed a first look at gameplay

After quite some time, Solar Ash gave us our first look at some gameplay and also a few tidbits of story information. Coming from Heart Machine, the developer of Hyper Light Drifter, their new project looks to be a stylish and fast paced action platformer. I wasn’t too interested in it before, but this gameplay makes it one to watch this year.

Five Nights At Freddy’s: Security Breach brought some creepy gameplay

The first look at gameplay for Five Nights At Freddy’s: Security Breach came with the State of Play, and it was suitably eerie and unsettling. It’ll be coming later this year.

Oddworld: Soulstorm showed off some gameplay

We’ve seen Oddworld: Soulstorm multiple times before, but this was the first time that we got a real good look at gameplay for the upcoming title. The game releases on April 6th for both PS4 and PS5, but next-gen owners will get the game free if they’re a PlayStation Plus subscriber.

Kena: Bridge of Spirits gave us gameplay and a release date

Kena: Bridge of Spirits is one of the more visually stunning titles we’ve see so far for the PS5, and today we got to see a lot of gameplay for it. In addition, we got a better idea of the story for the game as well as an August 24th release date.

Deathloop returned with more gameplay

Another game that we’ve seen a lot already, Deathloop returned to State of Play to show off some more gameplay. This game continues to look great, so fingers crossed that it’ll be just as good when it releases on May 21st.

Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade is coming to PS5

Rounding our the show was the biggest announcement, Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade. An enhanced version of last year’s Final Fantasy VII Remake, this new game adds a host of new features and brings the ninja Yuffie into the mix. It releases worldwide on June 10th.

And that’s everything! Overall, I think it was a solid showing today. With all the games shown, it looks like the next couple months are going to be pretty good for PlayStation owners.
