Dead by Daylight Getting Next-Gen Upgrade, Improved Graphics

As we begin to close out the era of PS4 and Xbox One, it’s only natural that we’re starting to hear which current-gen games will be receiving next-gen upgrades for the PS5 and Xbox Series X. The latest developer to share details about this is Behaviour Interactive for their multiplayer horror game, Dead by Daylight.

According to Behaviour Interactive, players who already own Dead by Daylight will be able to play the game for free on PS5 and Xbox Series X, and all of their progress that was made on the PS4 and Xbox One will carry over. We can also expect there to be crossplay between current and next gen consoles. Currently, this next-gen upgrade is expected to happen “Holiday 2020”, which is the same launch window as the next consoles. Dead by Daylight on PS5 and the Series X will also feature “improved graphics over current gen versions and receive regular updates”.

Dead by Daylight is just one of many games that will be getting upgrades for the upcoming consoles. With the announcement that Halo Infinite would no longer be a launch title for the Series X, Microsoft assured fans there will be thousands of Xbox games, across generations, available on the Xbox Series X, with over one-hundred of them optimized specifically for the new Xbox console. Recently, developer and publisher I/O also gave us news about Hitman 3, revealing the final installment in the World of Assassination trilogy will be receiving a next-gen upgrade.
