Nintendo Reveals Super Mario 3D All-Stars in Surprise Announcement

In a surprise announcement today, Nintendo revealed that Super Mario 3D All-Stars would be released on Nintendo Switch later this month, for a limited time only. The news came during a special Nintendo Direct which celebrated the 35th anniversary of Super Mario Bros. The bundle for 3D All-Stars is already available for pre-order in the eShop and at participating retailers.

This remastered bundle includes three classic 3D games: Super Mario 64, which was originally released in 1996 for the Nintendo 64; Super Mario Sunshine, which was released on the GameCube in 2002; and, lastly, Super Mario Galaxy, which was released on the Wii in 2007. According to Nintendo, this bundle of 3D games has been completely optimized for a “smooth gameplay experience on Nintendo Switch”, and the games also have “higher resolutions than their original versions”. An additional upgrade that fans can expect for the three games are updated Joy-Con controls and Joy-Con rumble.

A neat feature that will also delight fans in Super Mario 3D All-Stars is an in-game music player mode, which is loaded with songs from all three games. The music player includes a total of 175 classic tracks, and they can be listened to even when the screen is off on the Switch.

Super Mario 3D All-Stars will launch exclusively for the Nintendo Switch on September 18th, and the game will be available until March 31, 2021.
