Anyone who plays 2019’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare knows that it takes up a massive amount of hard drive space. The complete installation has surpassed 200GB in size, but PS4 and Xbox One players have the ability to trim that number by uninstalling data packs for the game’s various modes. That option has not been available for PC players, but thankfully, that’s about to change.
Infinity Ward announced via Twitter that Modern Warfare’s 1.28 update, which launches tonight at 11pm PDT, will include “mode specific uninstall options for PC MW owners.”
If this feature works in the same manner as it does on console, PC players will be able to uninstall data packs for the game’s Campaign, Multiplayer, and Spec Ops modes. This will be especially convenient for those who only play Warzone, which boasted a player base of 75 million back in August.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is still receiving regular updates from Infinity Ward, but Activision is turning its focus to Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, which launches on November 13. A schedule for the game’s beta can be viewed on the official Call of Duty website.
