Square Enix Reveals Project Athia for PlayStation 5
During the PlayStation 5 “Future of Gaming” digital showcase today, Square Enix revealed a teaser trailer for Project Athia, a brand new IP from Square’s new studio Luminous Productions. At the end of the trailer, it was revealed the name is actually a working title.
The game is being described as a “story-led, action-packed adventure”, in a world that is filled with both beauty and dismay, where “truths will be questioned” and “devotions will be doubted.” Takeshi Aramaki, who is the Director of Project Athia, took to the official PlayStation Blog to pen a few more details about the game. In the post, Aramaki describes it as a culmination of Luminous Productions’ philosophy to create new experiences in games that blend technology and art together. Based on his post, it also sounds like the game will feature multiple protagonists, though only one was featured in the announcement trailer.
Project Athia has been designed for PlayStation 5 hardware, and Aramaki says the development team will have more to show in the future.
