Resident Evil 2 1-Shot Demo Out Now, Players Already Cracking Time Limit
Recently Capcom revealed a teaser trailer for the Resident Evil 2 demo entitled “1-Shot” . It released on January 11th for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC and lasts for exactly thirty minutes.
Though both Leon Kennedy and Claire Redfield are playable characters in the Resident Evil 2 remake (just like in the original) it looks as though the demo only puts us in the shoes of Leon, in the opening section of the game; and according to Capcom, this area of the game has been “specially tweaked” for the remake. You can go into the demo completely blind and experience the world at a leisurely pace, or you can gather the necessary items and attempt to complete the demo within the time frame.
Those who finish 1-Shot will be rewarded with an all-new, exclusive trailer of the game.
Despite the hard stop at thirty minutes and the fact the demo was just released yesterday, players are already finding ways to crack the time limit.
The speed limits are rolling in, with some even clocking in at less than five minutes. One of the fastest runs I’ve seen so far (though there are sure to be more soon) comes in at three minutes and twenty-three seconds from the YouTube account “TheDarkenedRose”, which you can view below. Also, PC players are finding ways to reset the timer.
The 1-Shot demo is available for download until January 31st. Resident Evil 2 will release on January 25 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
