PlayStation Plus Games for March 2021 Revealed

Sony has revealed the free PlayStation Plus games for March and it’s a pretty great lineup of games on offer. From March 2nd to April 5th, Final Fantasy VII Remake, Farpoint, Remnant: From the Ashes, and Maquette will be available for all PlayStation Plus subscribers to download for free.

The biggest game of the bunch is undeniably Final Fantasy VII Remake. It’s an excellent remake of the classic 1997 JRPG that takes what’s old and makes it fresh and new in a way that no one could have imagined. A PS5 version titled Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade was announced yesterday with enhanced graphics, new features, and a brand new episode featuring Yuffie. Here’s where things gets a bit confusing. Owners of the PS4 version of the game of Final Fantasy VII Remake can upgrade to the PS5 version for free, but only if you purchased the PS4 version. The free next-gen upgrade is not available if you download the game through PlayStation Plus. If you get it through PlayStation Plus and want to get Intergrade when it releases, you’ll have to pay full price for it.

Farpoint is a sci-fi, first-person VR shooter that received mixed reviews when it released in 2017. On the other hand there’s Remnant: From the Ashes, a third-person survival action shooter that got mostly positive reviews back in 2019. Rounding out next month’s PlayStation Plus lineup is Maquette, a first-person puzzle game that’s very unique and inventive. It’ll be launching through PS Plus for PS5 owners where it will take advantage of the system’s Game Help feature to assist anyone who gets stumped by the game’s puzzles.

If you haven’t done so yet, remember to download the free PlayStation Plus games for February because they’ll be going away when this new set arrives. Don’t worry if you haven’t gotten Destruction AllStars yet, since that will be free on the service until April 5th.
