No Man’s Sky Developer Announces The Last Campfire

During The Game Awards, No Man’s Sky developer Hello Games made a surprise announcement and revealed its brand new project titled, The Last Campfire, which Sean Murray says they have been working on “secretly for a few years.”

Hello Games describes The Last Campfire as a “Hello Games Short”, similar to Pixar shorts, which tell a complete story in a condensed amount of time. While we don’t know the length of The Last Campfire yet, the game is a unique way to foster creativity and showcase new voices within Hello Games.

According to Murray, The Last Campfire is a game of adventure, in which a lost ember is trapped in a “puzzling place” and trying to find meaning in the world and its way home. Players will be explore a wilderness filled with odd creatures and mysterious ruins on their journey. Murray also mentioned on the official website for the game that Hello Games brought on board the creative minds behind LostWinds to develop this project.

The reveal trailer we saw during The Game Awards really shows off not only the vibrant artistic style of the game, but also the lonely journey that awaits players as they make their way through it.

As of now, there is no release date for The Last Campfire, and Hello Games is not announcing platforms just yet.
