Mafia III and Dead by Daylight Headline PS Plus August Lineup

The PlayStation Plus games for August 2018 have been announced, and the list of available titles continues the strong lineup of games that we’ve been seeing on the service in the last several months. The headliners for the month include none other than Hangar 13’s Mafia III and 4v1’s horror game Dead by Daylight. In Mafia III, play as Vietnam War veteran, Lincoln Clay, who returns home after the war only to find his adopted family has been killed by the Italian Mafia. Clay then tries to rebuild his life, while setting his sights on revenge against those who’ve wronged him. Mafia III is full of intense gun fights, hand-to-hand combat, and extreme car chases- all of it set against the backdrop of 1968 in the New Orleans-styled (fictional) city of New Bordeaux.

In the multiplayer survival horror, Dead by Daylight, four Survivors must try to escape the Killer to avoid being tortured and killed. Several methods of evading the killer include using the environment to your advantage by hiding in the shadows or behind furniture. Working together to set traps is also effective to reach the end goal.

Other PlayStation Plus games this month include titles from PlayStation 3 and the Vita:

  • Bound by Flame (PS3)
  • Serious Sam 3 BFE (PS3)
  • Draw Slasher (PS Vita)
  • Space Hulk (PS Vita)

PlayStation will also be offering  a couple of additional goodies for PS Plus subscribers. Trivia game Knowledge is Power is available for download from August 7 – November 6; and between August 7 – October 2, members will be able to play Here They Come on PSVR.

In reference to Here They Come, the PS Blog explains, “Experience the game where death is not a checkpoint. Explore a nightmarish city inhabited by strange, malevolent creatures in this first person horror game, where unsettling encounters and environments come to life.” Sounds good to us.
