We’re getting closer to June which means that the biggest season of game news, reveals, and announcements is right around the corner. It’s all going to kick off with Geoff Keighley’s Summer Game Fest which just announced a host of new details yesterday.
Starting on June 10th, two days before E3 starts, Summer Game Fest will kick off the biggest season in gaming with a showcase where developers and publishers will give new looks at both already announced and unannounced games. The full list of companies involved in Summer Game Fest was also released on the website and it includes PlayStation, Xbox, Activision, Ubisoft, Psyonix, Capcom, Annapurna Interactive, and more.
On Twitter, Keighley answered questions about the showcase, revealing that the live show is around two hours long and will feature games both big and small. According to Keighley, the showcase will have at least roughly 12 world premieres and also include a musical performance from the band Weezer.
Although there will be big games and world premieres during Summer Game Fest, Keighley encouraged fans to keep their expectations in check for what will be there due to the ramifications of the ongoing pandemic.
”What I would say is that, overall, I think there are going to be some big announcements and some long-awaited things that will be a part of June. I think there are going to be some good games that we’ll get to see, but I would also manage expectations that things have been delayed.”
We’ll see what exactly Keighley’s big showcase has in store for us in just a few weeks on June 10th at 11 AM PT / 2 PM ET / 6 PM GMT. What other surprises he has in store for the rest of Summer Game Fest will remain for us to speculate over.
