Here are Some of the Best Deals in the PSN Store for the Days of Play Sale

The PlayStation Days of Play sale has been running annually since it began in 2016, and the weeks-long event has given players some major price slashes on games, PlayStation accessories, and even hardware. The 2020 Days of Play sale is live now and will run until June 18th; and though there are some impressive discounts available for PlayStation games and exclusives, this year Sony has chosen not to lower the price of its PlayStation 4, PlayStation 4 Pro, or PlayStation VR.

Participating retailers for the sale this year are all the usual suspects: Walmart, GameStop, Best Buy, Amazon, and Target. While some of these physical stores are open now, due to states moving into their re-opening phases post-COVID-19, many are either still closed, have limited hours, or have wait-times to enter the store. Therefore, and to hopefully make things easier and more accessible to players everywhere, this post will focus primarily on the digital discounts available in the PSN store.

PlayStation Exclusive Games on Sale:

$40 MLB The Show 20 (San Diego Studio)

MLB The Show 20 released in March this year, and this $40 price tag is the lowest this game has been in the PSN store to date.

$30 – Dreams (Media Molecule)

MediaMolecule’s latest release will appeal to fans of the studio’s hit game Little Big Planet. Dreams is a whimsical and colorful game that allows players to create…well, whatever they want. Imagination and creativity are limitless.

$23.99Death Stranding (Kojima Productions)

Death Stranding

Death Stranding released near the end of 2019, and while there were some mixed feelings about it (mostly concerning its repetitive style of gameplay), the game has been more well-received than not. Death Stranding is Kojima Productions’ first title since its founding in 2016, and players assume the role of character Sam Porter Bridges, whose job is to help rebuild, or “bridge”, a ruined America after an apocalyptic event.

$20 – Horizon Zero Dawn: Complete Edition (Guerrilla Games)

Horizon Zero Dawn is a must-play, and (not biased at all, clearly) is one of the best PlayStation 4 games of this generation. Horizon is frequently discounted in the PSN store, both the base game and the Complete Edition, so even if you pass for the Days of Play sale, there is bound to be another opportunity to grab it. Horizon Zero Dawn introduced players to Aloy and an impressive open world where robot-like creatures roam freely. The Complete Edition includes The Frozen Wilds Expansion, a PS4 dynamic theme, bonus weapons and outfits, and more.

$20 – Marvel’s Spider-Man: Game of the Year Edition (Insomniac Games)

The Game of the Year Edition includes the full game and the City That Never Sleeps complete DLC story arc. Check out our review of Marvel’s Spider-Man here.

$15 – Days Gone (SIE Bend Studio)

Days Gone

Days Gone at $15 is a great deal. The game released early in 2019 and easily became one of my favorite games of the year. Play as Deacon St. John, in a post-apocalyptic, open world that has been overrun with Freakers. Though survival is an important aspect of the game, with the player being put in some pretty intense situations with hordes of Freakers, Days Gone has a lot to say about humanity and finding reasons to keep fighting for those you love.

$15 – God of War (Santa Monica Studio)

God of War is a fantastic reimagining of one of gaming’s most iconic characters. With Kratos’ previous life behind him, he is fighting to raise his son, Atreus, and teach him to survive in an unforgiving world. God of War builds on the gameplay elements and combat mechanics that the series has been known for and creates something new, as players battle through the unfamiliar and richly-imagined Norse lands.

$12 – MediEvil (Other Ocean Group)

MediEvil has been completely remade for the PlayStation 4. Play as the knight Sir Daniel Fortesque that has been resurrected by his enemy, the sorcerer Zarok. Players can pick up the Digital Deluxe edition during the Days of Play sale for $15, which includes a digital comic, art book, new armor, the soundtrack, and more.

$10 – The Last of Us Remastered

The Last of Us

The release of The Last of Us in 2013 solidified Joel and Ellie as two of the most recognizable characters in PlayStation’s exclusive lineup, and its ending sparked conversations about moral ambiguity that are still being referenced today. The Last of Us Part II releases in just a couple of weeks, so if you’ve never played the first game, now is the perfect time to finally do it. The Remastered edition of The Last of Us includes map packs and the Left Behind DLC, which tells the story of Ellie and her best friend, Riley, before the the events of the first game. The Remastered edition has also been enhanced for the PlayStation 4 Pro.
