“This is the photo that took one of my eyes, but gifted me with vision.”
If you all thought the first Evil Within was messed up, the second one looks like Tango Gameworks and Shinji Mikami (Resident Evil) are taking things one step further by raising this franchise to new, terrifying heights. Detective Sebastian Castellanos is making his return, and he’s in search of his young daughter, Lily. In order to save her, Sebastian must team up with Mobius, the group that ruined his life in the first game.
Bethesda Softworks and Tango Gameworks released a new story trailer for The Evil Within 2 today, and it showcases a new villain named Stefano Valentini, who provides a chilling voice over throughout the video. “Blood is my paint,” he says. “And this world is the canvas.”
Ever the twisted artist, Stefano takes pictures of his victims (it looks like Lily might end up one of them), and hangs them on his broken walls. Here is what Bethesda had to say about Stephano:
“Wretched creatures like Stefano Valentini, an artist with dark proclivities and unbounded imagination. You’ll see examples of his work scattered throughout Union – from grisly photographs of his victims, to the “moment of death” tableaus he creates, capturing the last seconds of a person’s life in a tangible, looping scene.”
With the upcoming release of The Evil Within 2, Fallout 4 Game of the Year Edition, and Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus, Bethesda has a busy fall schedule ahead. (Skyrim is also coming to the Switch, for those who may have forgotten.) It’s a lot for fans to look forward to, especially so close to Halloween. Check out the latest trailer for The Evil Within 2 below, and then mark your calendar. The horror returns Friday, October 13th on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
