E3 2021 is officially underway, and Ubisoft kicked off its Ubisoft Forward event with a gameplay trailer for the upcoming Rainbow Six Extraction, previously named Rainbow Six Quarantine. Originally announced during Ubisoft’s E3 2019 event, the game was revealed as a spin-off for Rainbow Six Siege’s co-op Outbreak mode, in which players battled AI enemies.
Rainbow Six: Extraction is the latest entry in the long-running Rainbow Six franchise and has players facing a brand new threat. Instead of fighting against each other, the tactical co-op shooter puts 1-3 players in a collaborative experience, where they will team up to take on waves of invading alien enemies. The trailer begins, showing a small team of operatives trying to rescue one of their own. We also see a variety of alien enemies throughout the gameplay, updates about classic Operators who have been missing in action, and it was also revealed that you will be unable to play certain characters until they’ve been rescued.
Rainbow Six: Extraction was expected to release in 2020. Now, after a re-naming and a bit of a delay, the game will launch on September 16, 202 for PS4, PS5, PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X. You can check out the gameplay below.
