E3 2019: The Outer Worlds Release Date Announced

Xbox kicked off its E3 2019 conference with a new look at The Outer Worlds, the upcoming project from developer Obsidian Entertainment and publisher Private Division. In addition to the new trailer, one of the biggest surprises was the official announcement of a release date for the game.

The Outer Worlds - E3

Originally revealed at the 2018 Game Awards, The Outer Worlds is a single player, science fiction RPG set in space, where factions fight for control and where players find themselves in the midst of a conspiracy theory that threatens to destroy a major colony in the galaxy. The E3 2019 trailer is our second look of the game, and from what we’ve seen of it so far, it has similar vibes to Fallout in terms of combat, dialogue systems, and environmental aesthetics. The familiarity between the games should come as no surprise, though, given that Obsidian is the developer behind Fallout: New Vegas.

The Outer Worlds launches on October 25, 2019. There was no specific mention of which consoles it would be launching on, but we’re sure to get more information about the game leading up to the release.
