Days Gone Has Gone Gold

SIE Bend Studio has announced that its upcoming open world action-adventure game, Days Gone, has finally gone gold. The announcement, which happened via a twitter post, shows the Oregon-based development team celebrating the completion of the game’s code which can now be sent out for manufacturing and distribution.

Days Gone was first shown at E3 2016 and introduced a post-apocalyptic world that had become overrun with zombie-like creatures called Freakers. Running in Unreal Engine 4, the tidal wave of enemies that were chasing protagonist Deacon St. John showed off the impressive tech and promised an exciting game from a studio that hasn’t had a release since 2012’s Uncharted: Golden Abyss on PS Vita.

After suffering an initial delay from a 2018 release window to 2019, Bend Studio locked in February 22, 2019 at last year’s E3 for Days Gone. However, this date was also shifted further down the calendar to April 26, 2019 with the intent to “further polish Days Gone.” This means that the game has gone gold almost two months before its release and will allow the developers to work on any day one updates once it hits the market.

In the lead up to its release, we found out that the game will feature six hours of cutscenes in a thirty hour campaign. You can enjoy Days Gone when it comes out exclusively on PlayStation 4 on April 26, 2019.
