Xbox Series X Will be Releasing This November

Microsoft has finally revealed that their upcoming next-generation console, the Xbox Series X, will release this November. Up until this point, Microsoft had only said that the system would release in Holiday 2020. While this isn’t a specific date, it gives a better idea of when we can expect to get our hands on the Series X.

Microsoft made this announcement as part of a post that acknowledged the delay of Halo Infinite to 2021. Although Halo won’t be there at the launch of Xbox Series X, the company assured fans that there will still be games for them to play. “We have plenty to keep you busy until Chief arrives: There will be thousands of games to play, spanning four generations, when Xbox Series X launches globally this November and over 100 optimized for Xbox Series X titles, built to take full advantage of our most powerful console, are planned for this year.”

The post goes on to highlight some of the games that will be coming to the platform when it launches in November and beyond. More than 50 cross-generation games will be coming to the Series X and be “optimized” for the system too. In addition, more than 40 popular games will be optimized to take “full advantage” of the console’s power. They also pointed out some games will be coming exclusively to Xbox Series X and launching with Xbox Game Pass.

Both Microsoft and Sony have been quiet about when exactly their new consoles will release, but Microsoft has finally taken that first step here. Now this raises two big questions. Is the Playstation 5 coming out in November as well? And if so, who releases their console first? Those answers will hopefully start to get cleared up in the coming weeks as August comes to a close.
