Patch 36.0 has been deployed to Heroes of the Storm‘s live server, which adds Whitemane, new cosmetics and several balance changes. The complete patch notes can be viewed at the game’s official website.
The highlight of the patch is certainly Whitemane, the game’s newest support hero. Her abilities focus on healing teammates, but they are further enhanced when Whitemane deals damage to enemies. She’s currently available for 15,000 in-game gold, but if you’re patient, that price will drop to 10,000 gold in two weeks. She can also be purchased for 750 gems, which are purchased with real money. World of Warcraft players will recognize Whitemane from the game’s Scarlet Monastery dungeon, where she serves as the instance’s final boss alongside Scarlet Commander Mograine.
The patch also brings some changes to existing heroes. Several of Chromie’s abilities have taken a range reduction, and Stukov has added talent variety at lower levels. Jaina has also been hit with a small nerf, as her Water Elemental now deals reduced damage.
New cosmetic items make up the last major element of the patch. Portraits, sprays, and emojis have been added for Whitemane, but the G.I. Joe-inspired Viper Ascendant items are easily the coolest additions. Players can obtain a Viper Dominator mechanical mount, as well as new skins for Genji, Ana, and Stukov.
Heroes of the Storm is a free-to-play game, and can be downloaded through the Battle.net Desktop App.
