We Ranked the Top 10 North American Splatoon 2 Splatfests

Splatfests are a time when the Splatoon 2 family unite, coming together to decide the ultimate truths of this world. When Pearl and Marina, the co-hosts of our favorite show Off the Hook, ask us which we prefer of two different, but similar things, we pick and fight for the right side. We decide what is more important in life. We are the enders of arguments and bringers of truth.

With the announcement of a new Splatfest coming at us this Friday, August 24th, it’s time we reflect upon our previous Splatfests to prepare for the battle of forks vs spoons.

10. Baseball vs Soccer

Score: 2-1
Winner: Baseball

Starting us off, this Splatfest holds the Number 10 spot as it was a solid battle, bringing the sports enthusiasts out of all of us. In a narrow win, the baseball team cheered when they won the solo and team competition. However, soccer fans remained steadfast in their victory of the popularity category with a 9.99% win over baseball.

9. Sci-Fi vs Fantasy

Score: 2-1
Winner: Fantasy

The similar, but vastly different genres of science fiction and fantasy went head to head in our Number 9 pick. The Splatoon community was asked to decide the better story genre and through a fierce battle of wizards and space, fantasy won through the categories of popularity and solo battles, leaving that spaceship to only orbit the planet of team victories.

8. Vampire vs Werewolf

Score: 3-0
Winner: Vampire

Our Number 8 spot holds the question of the Twilight generation – which is better, vampires or werewolves? For a Halloween edition, Splatoon asked us to pick our favorite creature of the night and with a 3-0 victory, we delivered the roaring response that vampires are best, even if they sparkle.

7. Action vs Comedy

Score: 2-1
Winner: Comedy

When a group of friends gather around a TV to watch a movie, no longer will we debate which genre to watch. This Splatfest holds the Number 7 spot since it ended the dispute of action vs comedy. We all know now that when watching a movie, comedies hold the crown as the action team’s explosions turned out to be duds when they lost the solo and team categories.

6. Flight vs Invisibility

Score: 2-1
Winner: Flight

Remember playing at recess and asking all your friends if they would rather the superpower of flying or invisibility? Well, the Splatoon crew took that exact memory and asked us all which we prefer. In our Number 6 pick, we remember the epic, and very close, battle between the two teams. Flying high, flight won the solo and team categories, while invisibility snuck in and won the popular vote by 0.74%.

5. Cake vs Ice Cream

Score: 2-1
Winner: Ice Cream

Number 5 is the first Splatfest we got to partake in Splatoon 2 and it was a doozy as we had to decide which sweet treat was better. Ice cream almost took the cake in a 3-0 victory, winning both popularity and solo victories easily, but in the end, cake fought back by winning the team battles.

4. Raph vs Donnie

Score: 2-1
Winner: Donnie

Raph vs Donnie claims the Number 4 spot since it was the culmination of two previous Splatfests to determine the best Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle! In this grand trilogy, we determined that Raph was better than Leo in Round 1, Donnie was better than Mikey in Round 2, and in the third and final round, Donnie was crowned the ultimate turtle. While Raph had the popularity vote, Donnie’s followers fought hard against Shredder to win the solo and team categories.

3. Squid vs Octopus

Score: 2-1
Winner: Squid

In anticipation of the awaited Octo Expansion, we got to decide if squids or octopi are better, and in a surprising turn of events, squids won. While octopus won the popular vote by a landslide, the squid team came through in the end by winning the most battles in the solo and team categories. Goes to show I guess, that the classics are always best!

2. Money vs Love

Score: 2-1
Winner: Love

What do you value in life? What do you take pride in? Money or love? Our Number 2 spot has to go to this Splatfest as it asked us to look deep into our hearts and determine what is more important. Winning the popularity and solo category, love beat money, and despite whatever team we originally sided with, we all secretly rejoiced at the heartfelt outcome.

1. Chicken vs Egg

Score: 2-1
Winner: Chicken

And finally, the Number 1 spot goes to the age-old question, “Which came first? The chicken or the egg?” Where philosophers and scientists have faltered to answer this basic question, the Splatoon community rose up to settle the dispute. Winning the solo and team categories, we declared to the world that the chicken did, in fact, come first.

So, are you now ready for Friday? Do you agree with this Top 10 list? Leave a comment below and tell us which utensil you are going to fight for.
