We’re just a week (and one day) away from the launch of Red Dead Redemption 2, and Rockstar Games has just released the official launch trailer for the game. It’s exactly one minute long but is packed with high action, explosions, and gives a small taste of the danger and disloyalty that awaits players and protagonist Arthur Morgan next week.
Red Dead Redemption 2 is set in 1899, twelve years before the first game. After a robbery gone bad, Arthur Morgan and the Dutch Van der Linde gang flee the scene and attempt to evade bounty hunters and the law. The sprawling open world set in the American west will test players’ (and ultimately Arthur’s) loyalty to the Van der Linde gang, as they struggle to survive and division among the group become inevitable.
To give players a small taste of how deep Arthur’s loyalty runs for the gang and how high the stakes are, in the trailer he can be heard saying, “Nothing means more to me than this gang. I would kill for it, I would happily die for it.”
Red Dead Redemption 2 will release on October 26 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Check out the full launch trailer below.
