Now that the E3 conferences are over and the show floor is opening up, it’s safe to say each developer and publisher that took the stage this year dropped several major surprises. Nintendo also delivered some epic announcements of its own during the Direct this morning- the primary of them being that The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt- Complete Edition is coming to the Nintendo Switch.
Yes, you read that sentence right.
We’re finally getting The Witcher on Nintendo Switch. Even though leaks surfaced several months ago saying this would be happening, nothing beats an official confirmation from Nintendo itself.
The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt is CD Projekt Red’s massive, open world RPG that is based on the novels by Polish author Andrzej Sapkowski, and which follow the adventures monster slayer Geralt of Rivia.
Since the Switch’s release in 2017, The Witcher 3 has seemed like the perfect game to port to Nintendo’s handheld console, and the discussions surrounding the possibility of this happening grew stronger after the console launched. These discussions seemed to reach a peak when Bethesda’s titles- The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Doom, and Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus began to make their way to the Switch.
The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt- Complete Edition will contain every DLC released for the game and two major story expansion packs- “Hearts of Stone” and “Blood and Wine”.
The game has a release window of Fall 2019 on Nintendo Switch.
