Star Wars: Battlefront II launches this November, and EA has just released a new trailer that showcases new maps and the game’s modes. The trailer is narrated by John Boyega, who of course, plays Finn. Boyega has been relatively active in the promotion of Star Wars Battlefront 2 given his famous Tweet to EA last year, asking the company to incorporate an offline story mode for the game.
The new trailer highlights everything that will be featured in Star Wars Battlefront 2, including the tripled number of locations (18), heroes (14), and vehicles (39). Boyega also takes us through the newly-introduced class gameplay and how players will be able to choose from Assault, Heavy, Specialist, and Officer, while learning the unique abilities and weapons that come with each one. He makes it clear, though, it’s not all about playing individually.
Even with the addition of the story mode, Star Wars Battlefront 2 is still all about the multiplayer aspect of the game, and the better you play with your team, the more Battle Points you will earn. Battle Points is a new element of gameplay being introduced into the series, and they can be used to call in reinforcements like Flame Troopers and Wookiees; and they are also “the key to bringing iconic Star Wars characters into battle” like Rey and Han Solo. The characters also have unique, customizable abilities for you to master.
The trailer also goes into the Star Cards and the progression system, which have been a point of concern for many fans. Boyega explains how Star Cards has “been completely rebuilt.” Players will be able to find these cards in crates or craft and upgrade them using different parts. The rarer the card, the most effective it will be in battle. In addition to this, the new trailer also highlights the five different multiplayer modes:
Even if you’re not ready for the intensity that the multiplayer will bring, you can hone your skills offline, playing a split-screen co-op or solo. Star Wars Battlefront 2 releases on November 14 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. You can pre-order the game here.
