Telltale Reveals New Teaser for The Walking Dead: The Final Season

Today developer Telltale Games released a second teaser trailer for The Walking Dead: The Final Season ahead of its event at San Diego Comic Con (SDCC), and things are not looking so good for our protagonist, Clementine.

Set years after the events of The Walking Dead: A New Frontier, this final season has Clementine in search of a stable home for herself and AJ, the latter of whom we haven’t seen since the events of season The Walking Dead: Season 2 when he was a baby. Now, though, AJ is significantly older and is closely watching Clementine’s actions, as she makes the unthinkable choices to keep them alive.

Earlier last month, Telltale teased that sanctuary for Clementine and AJ in The Final Season may come in the form of a secluded school, but “protecting it will mean sacrifice.”

Some new gameplay elements that we can expect with this last season are an over-the-shoulder camera system, more freedom when it comes to exploration, and “scenes with unscripted combat.” Aesthetically, Telltale has used the Graphic Black style of art to enhance the environments of this season and bring it to life in a way we have never seen. Ahead of E3 2018 last month, the developer also released an official description, which explains, “in this gripping and emotional final season, you will define your relationships, fight the undead, and determine how Clementine’s story ends.”

Episode one of The Walking Dead: The Final Season season will be released on August 14, 2018 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One. A version for Nintendo Switch is going to release later this year, but there is no release date yet.
