Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League Pits Us Against The Heroes

After first being announced a few weeks ago, we finally got our first at Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League during the DC Fandome event. The big debut came in the form of a cinematic trailer that took place in Metropolis, the city that Superman resides in. We see a giant ship that resembles the classic villain Braniac crashed in a heavily destroyed Metropolis. Meanwhile, the team (consisting of Harley Quinn, King Shark, Captain Boomerand, and Deadshot) is resting on a rooftop before jumping into battle against a number of zombie-like enemies across the city.

Deadshot flies around with a jetpack as he kills enemies; Harley swings around with a grappling hook and fights with her baseball bat and guns; King Shark leaps from building to building while using heavy weaponry and twin cleavers; and Captain Boomerang uses his boomerangs to quickly teleport to wherever he throws them and take out enemies. The trailer ends with the arrival of Superman as he destroy two helicopters and kills one of the survivors in front of the Suicide Squad.

Following the reveal, creative director Sefton Hill spoke about the game, providing us with a bit more information about what exactly it’s going to be. Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is set in an open-world Metropolis and is a continuation of the Arkham-verse that Rocksteady created with their famous Batman trilogy. The game is a 1-4 player game that can be played entirely solo or with friends.

If you choose to play solo, the rest of the squad will be controlled by bots. You’ll still be able to switch between characters mid-mission though if you’re playing solo, giving you the freedom to play as who you want, when you want. For those people that like to play solo and with friends, you can do both whenever you like as you progress through the campaign. Each character also has their own moveset that’s unique to them, allowing you to fight and traverse the city of Metropolis in different ways.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League comes out in 2022 for Playstation 5, Xbox Series X, and PC, so there’s going to be a bit of a wait for the game. Thankfully, we’ll have the new WB Montreal’s new game, Gotham Knights, will be coming out next year, so we’ll the wait won’t feel as long.
