Strange Brigade Dev Details Two New Game Modes

Strange Brigade releases at the end of the month, and developer Rebellion Developments has taken to its blog to detail two new modes that players can expect in the upcoming game: Score Attack and Horde Mode. The good news? They’re both free at launch. It seems devs are really starting to learn out how much we love the f word, or something.

According to the blog, Score Attack and Horde Mode can be played alone or with two-four additional players on your team. Below are the full details about each Mode:

Score Attack

Score attack is meant to be fast, and will test your skills at tearing through enemies quickly, to raise (and keep) your combo multiplier as high as possible. The multiplier increases the more you take down your enemies, but will quickly fall if you are too slow with the next attack.

Horde Mode

This Mode takes a nod from the actual campaign, where players can earn gold from killing enemies and can use it to gain access to new weapons. In a similar manner for Horde Mode, gold will still come from slain enemies, but the choice of how to spend your coin is entirely up to you. As the Modes’s name suggest, hording the gold will allow players to save up to unlock new areas of the level, and gain access to survival items like health potions.

Rebellion Developments describes this change as creating a “thrilling mode…full of tactical decisions to be made in the face of an unending horder of nefarious ne’er do wells…”

Both Score Attack and Horde Mode will receive free content updates after the game releases on August 28th for PlayStation, Xbox One, and PC. Check out our guide of August’s major game releases to find out why Strange Brigade is one of the most anticipated on our list.
