Standard Edition Xbox One X Pre-Orders Begin Today

The Xbox One X shed its Project Scorpio codename at Microsoft’s E3 2017 showcase, and it was there that we got a good look at the new console’s powerful specs and capability, including 4k resolution and the power to run games at 60 frames per second. At the end of August, Microsoft announced that pre-orders for the Xbox One X Project Scoprio Edition was the fastest-selling of any Xbox system to date. Now, pre-orders for the new console are open again, but this time for the standard edition.

The standard Xbox One X can be pre-ordered through local retailers like Best Buy, Amazon, and GameStop, or through the Microsoft store. Gamers who pre-order can expect the standard black console, with 1 TB of storage for $499, and they will receive the console when it launches on November 7th. More than one-hundred games have been enhanced for the Xbox One X, including Assassin’s Creed: Origins, Crackdown 3 (delayed until 2018), Dishonored 2, and Forza Motorsport 7.

As Phil Spencer explained at Microsoft’s E3 2017 showacase, gamers don’t need to have a 4k tv in order to enjoy this new upgraded system (it would help, but it’s not necessary); and for those who are still hesitant to make the leap and purchase the Xbox One X, your standard Xbox One and the Xbox One S will still be able to run all of the new system’s games just fine.

Consumer response to Microsoft’s new console should be an interesting one. Unless you are someone who is just dying to experience a multitude of games in 4K, the console doesn’t offer a whole lot to entice gamers who already own an Xbox One S and see no need for a switch yet, especially seeing as how you will still be able to enjoy upcoming games like Crackdown 3. This isn’t exclusively an Xbox issue, either. The PlayStation 4 Pro also did very little (if anything) to sway those who already owned a PlayStation 4. Let us know what you think about this in the comments, and stay up to date with more Xbox news at LoadingXP!
