Tonight during The Game Awards, Nintendo announced that the classic Final Fantasy VII character Sephiroth will become the latest fighter to join the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate roster later this month. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate released two years ago in early December, and the game now has an impressive roster of nearly 80 fighters, with more still to come.
With this latest addition, Sephiroth becomes the third fighter revealed from the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate’s Fighters Pass Vol. 2. Fighters already available in the second pass include Min Min from ARMS and Steve & Alex from Minecraft. In Vol. 1, players can find characters such as Hero from Dragon Quest and Joker from Persona 5. Fighters Pass Vol. 2 is currently available for pre-purchase for $29.99. Players who opt for this will receive all 6 Challenger Packs as they release. However, there is also the option to purchase fighters individually for $5.99.
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is exclusively available on Nintendo Switch. In honor of the 2020 Game Awards, Nintendo is also currently having a sale in the eShop, where players can save up to 33% on select titles. Check out the deals here.
