Back when Square Enix’s Project Athia (Working Title) was announced during the PS5 reveal stream in June, we learned that the title would be console-exclusive to PS5 “for a limited time,” while launching simultaneously on PC. We now have a better idea of how long this arrangement will last.
The PlayStation YouTube channel released a video highlighting new and upcoming games for the PS5, which shows roughly five seconds of Project Athia footage. When said footage is shown, a note appears that says “In development for PS5. *Also available on PC. Not available on other consoles until at least 24 months after release date.”
Aside from the details surrounding this partial exclusivity deal, we don’t know a whole lot about Project Athia. The game is being developed by Luminous Productions and its universe was created in part by Gary Whitta, who served as a writer on Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. A release window hasn’t been revealed, so we’ll probably be waiting quite a while for this one.
