PlayStation Plus Games For July 2021 Announced

Tomorrow marks the start of July and a new month means a new set of free games are coming to PlayStation Plus. Starting July 6, A Plague Tale: Innocence, Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, and WWE 2K Battlegrounds will be free for anyone subscribed to the service.

The PS5 exclusive game for PlayStation Plus this month (and simultaneously the big headliner) is A Plague Tale: Innocence. First released in 2019, the game is set in plague-ridden 14th century France and puts you in control of twins Amicia and Hugo de Rune as they try and escape the clutches of a group called The Inquisition. The game was pretty well received when it released, so this is a great addition to the service. It’ll be the recently announced PS5 version of the game too, which brings 4K visuals, a targeted 60 FPS, and vastly improved load times. This is the perfect chance to play the game and get caught up on the story ahead of next year’s A Plague Tale: Reqiuem.

Next up is Call of Duty: Black Ops 4. Released back in 2018, this entry into the franchise was a really fun one. Although it lacked a campaign, it was the series’ first step into the battle royale space with the Blackout mode. Although the game is nearly three years old, it’s still a great game to play, and its inclusion as a PlayStation Plus game this coming month will surely bring a fair amount of players to the game.

Finally there’s WWE 2K Battlegrounds, a more arcade style type of wrestling game. The game came out in September last year to mixed critical reception, so it’s definitely the weakest of the PlayStation Plus games for July, but as a free game there’s no harm in giving it a shot.

As a reminder, Virtua Fighter 5 Ultimate Showdown will remain free with PlayStation Plus throughout July. If you haven’t picked up the other free games for June, make sure you do so before July 6.
