The Western release of Persona 5 Strikers has leaked, revealing that the game will be out on February 23, 2021 for PS4, Switch, and PC. This news came by way of the game’s trailer being leaked online, revealing gameplay, the premise of the story, and the release date at the end.
While Atlus hasn’t officially announced this themselves, the leak is the first confirmation of the game releasing outside of Japan. It was originally released in Japan earlier this year as Persona 5 Scramble, but the company gave no word about it coming to other regions, meaning fans had to jump through some hoops if they wanted to play it.
There is a website for the game shown at the end of the trailer, but it’s currently not live. That combined with the message stating that players can pre-order the game makes me wonder if the reveal was meant to happen at The Game Awards next week. The event is known to be host to numerous game reveals and announcements, so it’s possible that’s where the game was poised to make its Western debut. If so, Atlus may decide to make the news official ahead of time since the trailer is already in the wild. Of course, we’ll just have to wait and see.
I personally am very excited for the game. Having just finished Persona 5 Royal recently, I’m dying to rejoin the Phantom Thieves with some brand new gameplay mechanics, a new story, and new characters. February 23rd seriously can’t get here soon enough.
