Nintendo Switch players will have the opportunity to play as Ryūko, Satsuki and other characters from Honnouji Academy in the upcoming Kill la Kill – IF. Based on the popular 2013 anime, the 3D fighting game will be published by Arc System Works and developed by A+ Games. The publisher has a history of making video game adaptions of anime such as this year’s Dragon Ball FighterZ.
Alongside the announcement of a Switch version, Arc System Works also revealed that Nui Harime and Ragyō Kiryūin will be playable characters in the game.
Fans of Studio Trigger’s energetic anime have been waiting for a Kill la Kill video game since it first aired back in 2013. Fortunately for them, Arc System Works announced Kill la Kill – IF earlier this year and showed it off through a reveal trailer at Anime Expo 2018. That trailer can be viewed below.
The publisher promises a game that will appeal to both casual and hardcore fighting game fans. The mechanics will incorporate “simple” commands that can execute a “wide variety” of attacks. Furthermore, the “Ketsui’s Testament” mechanic ensures that winning is as much about a war of words as is it a battle of fists.
Also coming to PlayStation 4 and PC, Kill la Kill – IF is slated to release sometime in 2019 with no official confirmation of a western release yet announced.
