Coming Soon

Indie Favorite Gone Home is Coming to Nintendo Switch

The Fullbright Company’s Gone Home is just one of the latest indie favorites about to make its way over to the Nintendo Switch, as it was announced earlier this year a version of Campo Santo’s Firewatch would be coming soon. “Soon” could be a year from now, but luckily we don’t have to wait that long for Gone Home. Publisher Annapurna Interactive released a short trailer on its official YouTube channel to announce the Switch version of the game is coming next week.

Gone Home is an exploration game with a memorable narrative at its foundation. You play as a young woman named Katie, who returns from her studies abroad, only to find that her entire family is gone. The house is empty, with many objects disheveled as though everyone left in a hurry. It’s up to you to explore the house, which can be unsettling at times. Turn over notes, unlock cabinets, listen to audio logs- whatever it takes in order to uncover the mystery of what really happened.

It’s nice to see the game finding new life all these years later, allowing a new audience to experience it for the first time and enticing old fans to return. Originally, the game released way back in 2013 on PC, with a release for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One following three years later in 2016.

Now, the game will be celebrating its five-year anniversary with a Switch release on August 23. Check out the Nintendo Switch Announcement trailer below.

Tori is originally from Rapture but now she lives in Chicago. She enjoys open world RPGs, a good narrative-driven game, and is probably the only person still watching The Walking Dead.
