Ubisoft Announces Assassin’s Creed Valhalla For Fall 2020

It’s finally happening, the next epic journey in the Assassin’s Creed is coming soon! For years Ubisoft’s acclaimed open-world stealth series Assassin’s Creed saw new entries on a yearly basis. However, this all changed when 2016’s pivotal Assassin’s Creed Origins changed the formula to feature loot and RPG systems. Origins‘ success influenced Ubisoft to stop annual releases, thus allowing developers time to create bigger and better experiences. Because of this the next installment, Assassin’s Creed released two years later and is arguably one of the best games of this entire generation.

Following the success of Assassin’s Creed Odyssey most have wondered what was next for the series. The first clue was found not a leak but an Easter egg found in The Division 2. Some players claimed to have seen fliers displaying the word “Valhalla” just above a person in armor holding a sphere-like object. Those familiar with Assassin’s Creed lore believe the object to be an Apple of Eden artifact. After this discovery some took the word “Valhalla” as a connection to Norse mythology. Since then the theories were proven true.

In collaberation with popular graphic artist BossLogic Ubisoft finally revealed their next huge open-world adventure, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. The next day, Ubisoft released a cinematic trailer, which sets the tone for this dark and brutal sequel. In Valhalla players take control of Eivor, a lone-wolf Viking raider during the 800’s Dark Ages. Aside from setting, Valhalla will introduce new features to the series like the ability to dual-wield weapons and large-scale raids. Ubisoft announced that Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will release Fall 2020 and will release on next-gen consoles as well. For more Assassin’s Creed and next-gen news check back here at LoadingXP!
