Microsoft had several major announcements during X018 over the weekend, and one revealed that Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice, an “independent AAA game“, will be coming to Xbox Game Pass in December. Developed by Ninja Theory, Hellblade released last year to major acclaim, with many praising its strong use of audio and its representation of mental illness.
Months ago at E3 2018, Xbox head Phil Spencer revealed that Microsoft had acquired four new studios, with Ninja Theory being one of them; so it’s not too much of a surprise the game is now getting the Xbox Game Pass treatment.
Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice is currently $29.99 in the Xbox store, but will now be free to Game Pass subscribers for free starting on December 14.
