Halo Infinite Campaign Confirmed for Xbox Games Showcase

Details surrounding 343’s upcoming game, Halo Infinite, have been few and far between since the game’s announcement in 2018. You might not have to wait much longer it seems, as 343 shared details on what fans can expect to see soon.

In an update published on halo waypoint, 343 confirmed fans can expect to see Halo Infinite’s campaign during the Xbox Games Showcase later this month. Not much of what we can expect to see in regard to the campaign was detailed. 343 simply stated the following:

“Save the date! We’re excited to share what the team’s been working on – the first look at Halo Infinite’s Campaign is coming on July 23! You’ll be able to catch the show on xbox.com, and pretty much everywhere else you may expect, including Xbox’s Twitch, YouTube, Twitter and Facebook. We’ll see you in two weeks”

Though I am excited for the game, I am sceptical. The previous two games developed by 343, after inheriting the franchise from Bungie, left many Halo fans, including myself, underwhelmed. The lack of Master chief in Halo 5 was a huge disappointment. It left me wondering if Halo 5 would have served better as a side game, similar to Halo: Reach. The story also required a considerable amount of outside knowledge, which restricted entry to new fans.

343 need to work on regaining trust from fans. If Halo Infinite is truly a “spiritual reboot”, and if they have taken on board criticism, Infinite might be just the thing to do that. Recently, a teaser trailer published to the official Halo YouTube channel confirmed one element of the game’s campaign. Many fans had been speculating as to whom the main enemy would be in the game. The trailer seems to confirm that the enemy we will be fighting in the campaign of Halo infinite will be The Banished.
